Hey everyone, how are you guys? Firstly, thanks for all the new comments, favs, watches etc. I really appreciate everyone. :love:

I've won a Mini-prize! :)

ALSO, I'm ecstatic that my dad just bought me a brand new Windows Vista Dell computer (it's absolutely gorgeous), along with Photoshop CS3 Extended and Corel Painter X. To think that I've spent roughly $1000 already, I feel bad. ^^;

Particularly because I've been doing great with my baby Photoshop Elements 4.0, and because I don't really feel like I deserve the better software. I'm not a professional, just a hobbyist who really enjoys artwork.

Art Lineup (Updated):

1. Traditional Picture: 100% (I'll be posting it after scanning and cleaning it up within the week) DONE: [link]

2. *Secret picture*: 85%

3. RotR: 75%

4. NnoiNell: Lineart stage, about 75% done with lines

4. IchiHime: Lineart stage, about 10% done with lines

6. August concept sketch #..too many to count lol.

7. =Kaze-Hime's 2008 Ruirin Storybook, I've got a few ideas now.


Now for some questions:

1. Would you guys prefer seeing more fanart from me? I always sketch concept fanart but I only ever post originals.

2. Do you have specific areas that you want to improve on, that you would like me to look at? I do have some people sending me notes for critiques, and I generally respond really well to those. I generally get...40 deviations per day to look at, which is really scary (so I tend to....ignore them loll? I'm bad :()


3. That leads me to this question, are there any specific areas I need to work on? Based upon my real life friends + teachers and comments here, I have my strengths and weaknesses:

Strengths:
-Color choices
-Overall color scheme
-Character design (includes clothes, hair, jewels etc.)
-Portraying mood

Weaknesses:

-Anatomy (to practice, I've been drawing my unaware classmates and teachers in various poses, I hope they don't think I'm stalking them lol)
-Technical details (such as figuring out appropriate line width, the best style to portray a theme)
-Originality in style (I really want to experiment many different styles and incorporate them into my own)
-Perspective (this is one I REALLY need help on, I've been trying to look up tutorials, so if anyone has links that'd be great)

4. ~Fennecfoxgal won my 10k kiriban (don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you! :heart:) and she requested a tutorial. I've received other requests for a tutorial, so I'll be posting a tutorial based from my October picture (her birthmonth :))...so I was wondering if there were specific aspects or techniques in my artwork you want me to share? I'd be more than happy to share, keeping "secrets" is rather ludicrous for an art community heh. =P

5. Last question, but could you describe what August feels to you? I have 3 versions of August:

a. Happy and breezy (like on a rolling hill, eating a picnic)
b. Beach theme (kind of generic)
c. Hot and sweltering, like dying (I'm rather interested in this one).

It'd be cool if I got your opinions, and it feels like forever since I've had a proper discussion with friends. :D

I'm mostly traditional because well... my digital aren't so great ^^; Photoshop CS is amazing! It will definitely better your pictures when you learn to use it to full extent!

Aw heh, I really don't think of myself as an inspiration at all lol, how flattering. :heart:

(You should take a look at some of my favorite artists in my info list, just put ":dev:" and insert their name after the "dev", they are true inspirations)

As of now I still use Photoshop Elements 4.0, but I'm learning how to use Photoshop CS3 and Corel Painter X, as well as OpenCanvas and SAI Painter.

Those are all digital, but I have traditional pencil works, plain pencil or colored pencil. I also paint with oils and do oil pastels, but I don't post those. :D

Hey, we haven't spoken in ages! Your work has improved incredibly, I especially like your transcendence piece. I'll be leaving deviantart.com, If I return, i'll let you know. I'm going to respone to your journal, seeing as I read part of it (I'm lazy...) August is definently like dying. Fanart is good... always. And... oh. Do not say anything about you 'not being good at drawing something' because you are lying when you say that. Although, I will admit sometimes your art defies physics... such as the same person in two different places. That's not your fault. The person I'm talking about does move to much. Excuse the many typos I make, por favor!
