~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I dream that in the future, where everyone can easily replace dying body parts with robotic ones and live forever, that we still keep our hearts with nature.
Picture is influenced by Japanese Koi Fish ponds. The lily pads and koi fish are supposed to be mechanical, and the lilies are made of glass. In the robot's hands is one of the last remaining flowers on Earth. The flower is being dissolved by the acidic pond, which has no effect on anything non-organic.
CRITIQUE PLEASE, as this picture is not yet finished. I would love to detail it some more and fix the wacky perspective. I must go to sleep however, my flight is in 4 hours. I will try to work on it more prior to the actual deadline based on critiques, but only if I have time. If not, then this is passable as a final version.
Thanks everyone for all the support, and thank you for watching me draw. :heart:
The flower as a focal point is really great, the lighting draws your eye to it. You might want to make it look more like a flower though, maybe introduce a different colour- because at the moment it looks like she's holding a clump of moss in her hand.
The mechanical fish look brilliant, I like them a lot. Idf they're breaking the surface of the water you should add some ripples and reflection. Maybe you should make the lily pads more metallic, introduce some grey tones.
Since the woman in the painting is a machine, you could draw some more wires coming out of her, or dissolve part of her face so you can see inside :o, that would be pretty scary!
The mood of it is really great and despite what you said about perspective on live-stream, I can't see much of a problem with it. The range of tone is excellent, a very clever piece of painting, the viewer's focus is where you want it to be considering your theme.
I can't wait to see the finished result! :D
This looks wonderful :heart: You got the metallic feel down, especially on the girl. The flower looks beautiful, and I really like how all the robofish are swimming towards it. The artificial lilypads and flowers look nice, also, especially with their extreme refleciveness. This is a really lovely piece. Good luck in the contest! :)
Also, CREEPY FISH!
I absolutely loved the concept, and the image itself reminded me much of Shakespeare's Ofelia (from Hamlet) floating amongst the water lilies.
My favourite fish isn't as visible anymore :( But at least that little freak up in the corner is...
Have fun at summer camp :) And good luck with the contest. It's really nice seeing this finished now (or 'for now';) and I think it came out really well. I'm sorry that I didn't pipe up about this during your livestreaming, but it was just a bit difficult to see then, that I think the perspective is fine but something seems to be lacking in the composition? The darkness in the upper half is met by pretty mellow tones in the bottom, which maybe doesn't do justice to the light centered on the one last flower in her hand. But then again, flowers don't really shine that much so maybe I'm being unrealistic :XD:
I think this would pass for a finished entry very well, and it sure is one of the best images I've seen submitted to the contest so far.
