~~~~~~~~~~~~ Note 1/20/08: Ok, apparently the reference image website changed its url, and I can't find them anymore. Just know that I credit Laurenstudios for their "moon reflecting on water" images.
From now on, I'll credit at the top, since it's important.
This was a difficult image to do, mainly because I painted without any lines to define shapes. First try at a mood and atmosphere with a proper background.
An explanation: June is the cooler of the hot summer months we get, so I wanted to depict a summer night by the sea. The sea holds a lot of charm for me, mystical and silent. The glows and dragon show the mystery I adore.
Note: In case anyone is reading this again, I'll be re-painting the image due to many useful critiques, I'll be resubmitting this soon.
Time: At least 10 hours, good grief Process: -Sketch on printer paper, pencil -All painted in GIMP
I must note that I *just* found out the pressure sensitivity for GIMP doesn't work on Mac OS X correctly; more pain for me.
I only wish I had more to say about it, but really the picture's beauty speaks for itself this looks like it belongs on a poster for some fantasy movie or something.
Too many compliments will make my head explode... Goodness, a movie poster? I'm not nearly up to their standards, but as long as you like the picture, I'm happy.
